|Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur 2 saw a dull response at box office in its extended five-day weekend. The chance of a pick in the business is next to nil since Ek Tha Tiger releases on Wednesday.
Hailed by critics, Gangs Of Wasseypur 2, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi and Richa Chadda, collected only Rs. 15.40 crore in its run from Tuesday night (starting with paid previews) to Sunday evening.
The collection from the previews was dull to start with, and the business slumped on Thursday, only to pick up on Friday and Saturday before peaking on Sunday. The aggregate collection of Rs. 15.40 crore isn’t anything to rave about for a five day-weekend with an extra public holiday (Janmashtmi) added in between.
Moreover, the film now faces a total wipeout by the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Ek Tha Tiger which releases on Wednesday. The advance booking for the film is already on, and going by the maddening hype and hoopla surrounding the Salman-starrer, Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 has just Monday and Tuesday to rake in what it can.
Meanwhile, Jism 2 starring Sunny Leone has consistently slipped at box office and witnessed a 70 percent fall in its collections by the end of its second weekend.
