A proud moment for Bollywood as Aamir Khan becomes the third Bollywood celebrity ever to feature on the cover of the world renowned Time magazine.
The magazine’s September issue cover has a close-up of Aamir’s intense face with the headline screaming, KHAN’S QUEST, followed by the blurb, “He’s breaking the Bollywood mold by tackling India’s social evils. Can an actor change a nation?”
The cover doubtlessly is an ode to the stupendous work Aamir Khan has been doing by bringing various social evils of India to television screens and asking tough questions via his show Satyamev Jayate. His show has also been instrumental in formation of new laws and sparked several social changes at various levels throughout India. Mostly, it has made people aware and sensitized them about various social issues.
Aamir Khan is the third Bollywood celeb to feature on Time magazine after Aishwarya Rai (in 2003) and Parveen Babi (in 1976). The last Indian to make it to the cover of Time magazine was Sachin Tendulkar. Sania Mirza has also graced the magazine cover apart from politicos like Narendra Modi, Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi.
Aamir is presently in Chicago shooting for the YRF film Dhoom 3.
