It was Karan Johar’s vision, carried out well by his team. The making of Disco Deewane shows how the entire crew slogged to make the song perfect. Be it choreographer Remo D’Souza, the music composers Vishal-Shekhar, or the three newcomers -- Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra -- everyone has chipped in, and the result is for you to see.
The song has soared up on the charts with its hit music. Actually, director Karan Johar wanted a surefire dance-floor scorcher, and the famous eighties’ track Disco Deewane was a perfect fit. Music composers Vishal-Shekhar tweaked it to a better effect, and voila! Karan Johar was mighty pleased.
Next move was to get the dance right. Dance director Remo D’Souza, who is the co-judge of DID along with Karan, teamed up for the first time with the director to choreograph the song. The nifty dance moves with an unmistakable Bollywood tang are a delight to watch.
Also the newcomers Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, and Siddharth Malhotra have put in a lot of effort. They practiced for twenty days to prepare for the song. In this video, Alia reveals how it was for her to dance in a full-fledged Bollywood dance number in a big setting. She says she thought of herself as a good dancer, but reality hit her when she toiled for the song to get the dance steps right.
Designer Manish Malhotra can also be seen in the video discussing the splendid costumes. Since the track is used for the prom night celebration, the girls are wearing cute dresses, and the boys are in bow-tie.
After the completion of the song, Karan heaved a sigh of relief, and so did the entire team. You can catch the behind-the-scene fun and hardwork in the making of the song Disco Deewane here:
