Sridevi is overawed by the opulence and affluence of New York in this new song ‘Manhattan’ from the upcoming film English Vinglish.
The highlight of the song, apart from Sridevi’s expressions of incredulity, is the lyrics by Swanand Kirkire and some energetic singing by Clinton Cerejo and Bianca Gomes. Since Sridevi plays a lady who doesn’t know English, she is given a literal translation of Manhattan as ‘Man’ (aadmi), hat (topi), tan (dhoom ki chhaap).
The song talks about the riches and beauty of Manhattan, not the least the high-end brands one gets to shop there.
