Mumbai Film Fest to open with 'Silver Linings Playbook'
Eight-day fest starts on Oct 18

Mumbai Film Fest to open with 'Silver Linings Playbook' Silver Linings Playbook
Critically acclaimed Hollywood comedy-drama Silver Linings Playbook will open the forthcoming 14th Mumbai Film Festival, starting Oct 18. Adapted from Matthew Quick's novel of the same name, the cast of the film inculdes actors Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Julia Stiles and Chris Tucker.

The film's screening at the festival will mark its Asia premiere presented by Anupam Kher, who has been appreciated for his clever performance in the film.

"I feel honoured to present 'Silver Linings Playbook', as the opening film of prestigious 14th Mumbai Film Festival. As an actor it is a dream come true to be part of this brilliant and heart warming film. A great moment of joy and pride for me," Anupam said in a statement.

Directed and written by David O. Russell, the film revolves around the life of Pat Solatano who has lost everything - his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his parents after spending eight months in a state institution on a plea bargain.

The eight-day fest starts in Mumbai on October 18 and it is being organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI). A Reliance Entertainment initiative, the festival will showcase over 200 movies, including nine silent films.
