Now it seems almost confirmed! Barun Sobti, popularly known as Arnav Singh Raizada, is walking out of the show, leaving no option for the producers but to rope in a replacement. Meanwhile, actress Sanaya Irani, Arnav’s ladylove Khushi, has decided to continue with the show, but she also admits that the TRPs will take a hit.
Don’t know what fate Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon will meet, but Barun’s exit will definitely sag the popularity of the romantic serial. Sanaya Irani is well aware that the fans are disappointed with the news of Barun’s exit. While talking to a daily, she says, “I know that our fans will be disappointed…But this is part and parcel of the show. When a soap runs for 5-6 years, actors are often replaced. It will affect the TRPs but I believe in taking things as they come. Nothing much can be done about it.”
Earlier it was said that Barun is thinking of taking a break from the show, to follow his Bollywood dreams. He has already started working on his first film Main Aur Mr Right with Shenaz Treasurywala. Barun even said that he will not leave TV and will keep on working on both the projects.
However, after confirmation from Sanaya Irani, the serial’s main lead, the fans of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon are bound to be disappointed. Barun says, “If my fans love me, they will understand.”
According to the sources, the former Mr. India, Viraf Phiroz will be the new man on the show. Viraf has done serials like Mahi Way and Kismat. As of now, he refuses to comment on the issue. Sanaya Irani, too, is tightlipped about the latest development.
It remains to be seen if the fans of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon will accept any other actor in place of Barun Sobti. They know that without their favourite ASR, the serial will lose its magic and it will take quite some time getting used to a new actor playing the adorable character! |
