The huge fan following Shahrukh Khan enjoys worldwide was apparent at the 12th International Film Festival of Marrakech where the superstar was almost mobbed by his Moroccan fans.
Shahrukh’s film Jab Tak Hai Jaan was screened at the festival which is celebrating Indian cinema this year. On the second day of the fest, the fans were rapturous to see Shahrukh Khan at the venue. The superstar didn’t just walk past them, but stepped closer to them, waved at them, even shook hands. One fan even grabbed his arm and didn’t let go until the security intervened.
However, true to his charming, smiling self, Shahrukh didn’t betray any annoyance with the fans. Rather he smiled and cheered them on.
“It's the love. You can only enjoy it,” SRK reportedly said after being floored by the adulation he got from the fans.
Not just this, Jab Tak Hai Jaan was also shown at an open-air screen in one of the markets of Marrakech. Reportedly, Shahrukh Khan was greeted by thousands of fans when he went there to address them.
The Bollywood superstar was also presented the Medal of Honour of Morocco by Prince Moulay Rachid who also hosted a royal dinner for the actor. (see next page)
“Thanx everyone for the wishes from Morocco. His Highness the King and the Prince were so gracious with their hospitality and the function,” Shahrukh tweeted.
