Akshay Kumar enjoys being a Khiladi, and that’s why his upcoming film was named Khiladi 786, and not something else.

It’s heard that the music composer Himesh Reshammiya, the man who scripted Khiladi 786 had a different title in his mind for the film, and that was Punjabi Rajinikanth. However, as soon as Akshay Kumar came on board he did mind the title.

According to a source the movie was titled Punjabi Rajinikanth because, “The protagonist is a character jisko koi ek kharoch bhi nahin maar sakta. In a way, he’s invincible and can do wonders, just like Rajinikanth. The only difference is that he's from the north.”

Now, coming to Akshay Kumar! When the star heard the script, he not only decided to act but also produce the film. So, the makers decided to change the title to something that can suit Akshay and his personality. Then at Akshay’s behest the title, Khiladi 786, was chosen.

Explaining the change of the title, the creative producer of the film tells a daily that the hero of the film is a larger-than-life character and so Akshay Kumar suggested that since he’s referred to as Khiladi, and his character wears lucky number ‘786’ on his hands, Khiladi 786 would be the most apt title for the masala entertainer.

The movie is releasing on December 7.
