|With his transformation into a sinewy sprinter, Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar has shown everyone what the phrase ‘getting into the skin of the character’ actually means.
People have rubbed their eyes in disbelief upon seeing Farhan Akhtar actually ‘become’ the much feted Indian athlete Milkha Singh for the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. However, the transformation wasn’t easy.
“It was definitely a challenge, but it was a challenge that was a very exciting one to accept,” Farhan Akhtar says about his role.
Not just the physical transformation, the 38-year-old actor also had to learn Punjabi for the role, but in bits and pieces.
“In bits and pieces. I mainly focussed on dialogues and certain improvisations within scenes. But of course I had to, because there is a very distinct Punjabi flavour to the whole film,” Farhan Akhtar said at Mercedes Benz's Star Drive grand finale, held in Mumbai.
The actor has already got heaps of praises from film fraternity for his transformation in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
Lara Dutta, for one was bowled over by the trailer.
“So...saw 'Talaash' (which I really liked), but what stayed with me long after is the accompanying trailer of BMB ('Bhaag Milkha Bhaag')! @FarOutAkhtar, you are hot,” tweeted Lara.
