It was year 2006 when Aishwarya Rai kissed Hrithik Roshan on screen in Dhoom 2. Since then the actress hasn’t shared an intimate moment with any of her co-stars. While talking to Sir David Frost in an interview, Ash revealed that she is still uncomfortable with the idea of puckering up for her films.

Her fans know that the Dhoom 2 kiss was not taken lightly, and uproar followed. Aishwarya admits that the scene caused such a stir that she even got legal threats for it. As reported by Dailymail, the actress says, “I did it (kiss) once prominently in the movie Dhoom and it was so topical, and you’ll be surprised, I mean I actually got a couple of notices, legal notices, from some people in the country turning around and saying "You are iconic, you’re an example to our girls you have led your life in such an exemplary manner, they’re not comfortable with you doing this on screen so why did you?”

Yes, she is iconic, but first an actress! Aishwarya Rai also mentions that she couldn’t understand why there was such a hue and cry over a kiss. “And I was like wow, I’m just an actor, doing my job, and here I am being asked to offer an explanation for a couple of seconds in a two, three hour piece of cinema,” Dailymail quoted her saying.

Ash reveals that when she signed Dhoom 2, she was quite sure that her audience was not very comfortable with her kissing on-screen. Then too she was okay with it.

However, her tete-a-tete with David Frost was not just centered on Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai even opened up about the various Hollywood projects she declined, because the films demanded physical intimacy and kissing.

According to Aishwarya, though kisses are regular in Bollywood movies nowadays, it’s still a long time before they become the “standard”.
