Lara Dutta has been on a self-chosen sabbatical from films ever since she stepped into motherhood with her little bundle of joy Saira earlier this year. Today, Lara is looking forward to return to films.
At an event of the Columbia Alumni association, Lara Dutta spoke about motherhood and how it has changed her life.
“I think for me, motherhood has definitely and completely become the biggest parameter, the biggest measuring scale for the things I want further in life,” Lara said.
The 34-year-old, who turned producer last year with the film Chalo Dilli, said she would always be up to something challenging professionally.
“I don't think that I am the kind of woman who can stay at home and be known just as Saira's mom or just as Mahesh's wife. I genuinely think that there is lot more that I want to do,” Lara said.
However, Lara added that she’s only interested in good scripts now.
“When it comes to films, be extremely selective about how much time now I want to spend out of the house and, therefore, a script better be really very good before I just try to put my name to it,” she said.
