|As expected, the tickets of Dabangg 2 are selling like hot cakes and the film might set new box office records in the coming days.
The film, starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, has got a good advance booking, making almost certain that it will hit the ground running on Friday. From the early figures, it turns out that cash registers must have been ringing ceaselessly at ticket windows, for Dabangg 2 has garnered an 80 percent advance booking.
Despite Friday not being a holiday, the film is expected to run to packed houses at many centres. The occupancy throughout the film’s first week is pegged above 80 percent, or may be even more, at PVR cinemas. Other multiplexes, too, are reporting a good response to the film.
Single screen theatres are going to see a lot of rush in the coming days, given the mass appeal of Salman Khan.
A star-studded premiere of Dabangg 2 was held in Mumbai yesterday and going by the initial reactions of the film fraternity, the film has the punch to hit the 200 crore mark, the feat achieved earlier this year by Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger.
Dabangg 2 also has the advantage of the Christmas holiday next week, followed by a weekend that precedes New Year’s eve. So expect the film to mint crores in the coming days.
