Fun watch trailer: Akshay Kumar as a conman in ‘Special Chabbis’
If Hollywood has its Oceans 11, 12 and 13, Bollywood has now got its Special Chabbis, the only difference being the group here doesn’t pull off high profile heists, but con politicians and businessmen by posing as CBI officers, of all people.
Written and directed by Neeraj Pandey, who made the hard-hitting A Wednesday a few years back, Special Chabbis claims to be based on real life incidents that rocked India in the late 1980s.
Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher lead a bunch of conmen raiding the houses of MPs and businessmen, digging out cash, jewellery, expensive electronic items and other pricey odds and sods, only to walk away with the booty. Not just that, they also slap around the people they con.
Manoj Bajpayee plays the real CBI officer, on the hunt of this group called Special Chabbis that is ready to make a big raid in Bombay and claim new victims. Jimmy Sheirgill plays a cop who has a score to settle with these conmen.
Made under the banner of Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Special Chabbis is slated to release on February 8, 2013.
