|Akshay Kumar is on a roll with his big hits in the year 2012, and that’s the reason why the makers of his next film Boss are apparently not willing to take chances with his hit box office formula. Though the actor was keen to fly solo in Boss, a female lead is the new addition.
Akshay Kumar plays a kind hearted gangster in Boss, a remake of South hit Pokkiri Raja. It’s learnt that initially, the star wanted to play a lone gangster who has no tempting distractions. He even insisted that he wanted Boss to be his first ever film without a leading lady, claim sources.
However, as the script developed, the makers felt that Akshay Kumar’s fans would feel cheated if he was shown without a female co-star in the film, thus Aditi Rao Hydari will be introduced in the plot line as a surprise element. The lover boy image suits Khiladi Kumar, doesn’t it!
The insiders reveal that Aditi’s character was written because everyone felt Akshay going solo would make him look like a character actor. “Aditi was chosen because the director feels she makes a great pair with Akshay,” says a source.
Aditi Rao Hydari, too, has confirmed the news to a daily. Boss is directed by Anthony D’Souza, and is expected to release in June, 2013.
