Just show me the money, honey! Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is doing her first South Indian film, and reportedly has asked for a whopping 5 crore as her fee.
When it was announced that Sonakshi Sinha is doing a Telugu film with the superstar Mahesh Babu, many thought that such a step is too early in her career. Moreover, Sonakshi has no dearth of good projects in Bollywood. Then what exactly prompted the actress to sign a south film?
Probably a handsome amount! Sonakshi Sinha has reportedly demanded Rs 5 crore for the film, and she is getting what she has asked for. Of late, reports of her price hike, post the success of Dabangg 2, are also generating buzz.
Also, it’s heard that the Telugu movie is a period film, and Sona was keen to do such a movie. That could also be the reason for her yes.
Sonakshi Sinha was the first choice even for the director Krish Jagarlamudi. It’s said that Krish began writing the film three years ago, which is also when he first saw Sonakshi in Dabangg. “He wanted to narrate the story to her back then, however, the actress was not keen to do South films at that time,” a source is quoted as saying.
Later Kris approached Prabhu Deva, Sonakshi’s director in Rowdy Rathore, and got a chance to meet her. Finally, Kris was able to cast the heroine for his dream project.
If indeed Sonakshi is getting Rs 5 crore for this film, then she is one of the highest paid actresses down south.
