The two songs -- Manja and Meethi Boliyaan -- have already caught the fancy of audiences for their lingering tune and poignant lyrics. Now comes the third and the final song of the album: Shubhaarambh. Nestle might think of making another TV commercial from this song, but first let’s savour it.
Unlike the previous two numbers, the song Shubhaarambh has a festive feel to it, and is laced with Gujarati lyrics. As the song plays, the listeners will be mesmerized with the sound of the shehnai and the rhythm of the dhol, both making for an exotic concoction and a musical treat. Words of the song are by Swanand Kirkire, whose name is now synonymous with meaningful poetic lyrics, and the song is sung by Shruti Pathak of Mar Jawan fame.
Director Abhishek Kapoor has rightly described the album as a “pure unadulterated soulful Indian music” which ought to be appreciated, and we do admire the album for its musical richness, earthy flavour and heart-wrenching tunes. Shubhaarambh is another gem.
