Jolly L.L.B. starring Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani is making moolah at box office with a fantastic first weekend followed by a steady run on Monday.
Riding on good critical appraisal and a strong positive word of mouth, Jolly L.L.B. showed growth throughout the weekend. It opened on Friday with Rs. 3.12 crore nett which was far better than the opening the other two releases Mere Dad Ki Maruti and 3G-2013 got. The business of Jolly L.L.B. picked up on Saturday with a collection of Rs. 4.23 crore and peaked on Sunday with Rs. 5.16 crore nett.
The first weekend aggregate of the film comes at Rs. 12.51 crore nett which is quite good for a film releasing in the middle of the examination period and boasting of no A-listers.
The biggest disappoint of the weekend was the Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan-starrer ‘3G’. The film showed very little growth over the weekend. Sample this: on Friday it made Rs. 1.08 crore; on Saturday Rs. 1.10 crore; and on Sunday Rs. 1.35 crore. In a nutshell, disappointing numbers.
In fact, Mere Dad Ki Maruti, featuring Saqib Saleem, Ram Kapoor, and Rhea Chakraborty fared better than 3G. The film collected approximately Rs. 4.25 crore during the weekend.
