Emraan Hashmi’s 'Ek Thi Daayan' to be reshot?

The release of the Emraan Hashmi-starrer Ek Thi Daayan is just a month away, but there seems to be a clash brewing between the two producers -- Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj. It’s heard that owing to their creative differences, some portions of Ek Thi Daayan might be reshot.

Though they come from different school of filmmaking, it’s for the first time that Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj have joined hands for a film. Moreover, Ek Thi Daayan is directed by Bhardwaj’s assistant Kannan Iyer, and both the mentor and the student think likewise. So, while Vishal Bhardwaj and Kannan Iyer are on the same page, Ekta apparently has her apprehensions.

As per reports, there are apparently serious creative differences between Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj and it has led to the former demanding some scenes to be reshot. “Yes, the buzz about the film being reshot is true…Ekta wants to make the horror thriller more appealing to the aam janata with Vishal having no option but to let it happen,” a source tells a tabloid.

Sources further claim that the unit has also been informed about the creative clash between the two producers, and the cast has been told that certain scenes need to be reshot to ensure a better film.

Ek Thi Daayan is a gripping tale about a magician played by Emraan Hashmi and his connection with a mysterious lady -- a daayan. The movie looks every bit promising as it touches on the inexplicable subject of Daayan cult, a predominant part of folklores in India.

Releasing on April 13, the movie toplines actors like Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin, Konkona Sen Sharma and Huma Qureshi.
