Hardly has the film industry absorbed the shock of Sanjay Dutt’s conviction in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, other Bollywood stars like Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan are now in the line to face the heat from courts.
On Saturday, March 23, a Jodhpur court will read out fresh charges against Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre in the blackbuck poaching case that dates back to 1998.
Salman, Saif and the three actresses are accused of killing two blackbucks at Kankani village in Jodhpur during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain. The blackbuck is a protected animal under the Wildlife Protection Act and killing it is punishable by law.
In December last year, the Rajasthan High Court had revised the charges against these stars, charging Salman Khan with section 51 of Wildlife Protection Act.
The fresh charges will be read out today in Jodhpur court.
We hear, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam arrived in Jodhpur earlier while Salman Khan is expected there on Saturday morning.
