The Sunrisers Hyderabad will lock horns with Delhi Daredevils at the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on 12th April 2012 at 8 pm. The home team is still in search of its maiden win in IPL 2013 while Hyderabad has recorded two wins out of the three matches they have played so far.
Both the teams are led by their Sri Lankan players Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara. The winning streak of Sunrisers was broken by Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous encounter.
A SWOT analysis of both sides will give us an idea on who enjoys an edge.
Strengths: This team has always been a strong side in home conditions. Morne Morkel and Umesh Yadav’s exploit with the ball under the inspired leadership of Mahela Jayawardene makes Delhi Daredevils a force to reckon with. Virender Sehwag’s comeback can be a great morale booster for the side.
Weaknesses: Absence of quality T20 players like Kevin Pietersen and Jesse Ryder has dented the team combination.
Opportunities: A win for Delhi Daredevils will come as a huge sigh of relief as they are yet to register their first win in IPL 2013. An opportunity for Sehwag to get back to his scoring ways and be back in the reckoning for a place in the Indian team.
Threats: Dale Steyn can dismantle any batting line-up on his day. Cameron White too has the potential to take the game away from any opposition.
Strengths: A strong batting line-up with batsmen like Cameron White and Kumar Sangakkara. Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma have the potential to take wickets and break partnerships.
Weaknesses: Parthiv Patel and Akshat Reddy have failed to deliver the goods for Sunrisers in the tournament so far. Parthiv has failed to provide a decent start to Sunrisers with the bat.
Opportunities: A win for this side will put them back on winning streak and give them a belief that they can beat any opposition even if they are not playing in their own backyard.
Threats: Morne Morkel has the ability to strike early blows with the bat and a player of Sehwag’s caliber is always a shot away to get back to his attacking brand of play.
