The two new releases Commando and Nautanki Saala! have opened almost neck to neck at the Indian box office, with the former having a slight lead.
Nautanki Saala!, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapur in lead roles along with Pooja Salvi got off to a decent start at the domestic box office with the first day collection of Rs. 3.25 crore nett. The film has got mixed reviews and has been panned for being too slow in the second half.
In comparison, Commando, the actioner starring Vidyut Jamwal and Pooja Chopra, has fared better at single screens, and quite understandably so because of its subject. The film has done better than Nautanki Saala! on its first day at the box office with the collection of Rs. 3.69 crore nett. The reviews of Commando too have been mixed but almost everyone is all praise for Vidyut’s action and stunts.
While there’s hardly anything left to talk of Himmatwala, which is now a box office turkey, Chashme Baddoor rounded off its first week run at box office with Rs. 30 crore. A HIT.
Likewise, Mere Dad Ki Maruti too has trundled past Rs. 12.50 crore in its box office run so far.
Jolly L.L.B. is a hit with a four-week collection of Rs. 32.71 crore.
