Indian cinema has completed its 100 years and during this period a lot many great movies came from the film industry. From these countless films, the Shahrukh Khan-Kajol starrer Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has been voted the most favourite Indian film of the past 100 years.
Take a bow, Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Aditya Chopra. For their timeless love story Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has topped the poll conducted by Sanona, the UK's largest online Pay Per View (PPV) Indian movie streaming service.
Marking the completion of the 100 years of Indian cinema, the portal conducted a poll to find out which films tops the favourites list of Bollywood buffs. It was an online poll and votes were cast through social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, through email and also on the movie portal itself.
The 1995 YRF film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge topped with 47 percent votes in its favour. The film beat even all-time classics like Sholay, Mother India, Mughal-e-Azam and Awaara.
Sanona's CMO, Shazia Nizam says, “With Shahrukh Khan and Kajol's continuing popularity and Bollywood's expanding fan base in the UK, Europe and further afield, it comes as no surprise that Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge would be voted the public's most favourite film.”
