The 66th Cannes Film Festival seems to be celebrating Indian fashion as much as it is the 100 years of Indian cinema. The latest one to take desi fashion to the red carpet of French Riviera is none other than the bold and beautiful Ameesha Patel.
For her Cannes debut, Ameesha Patel chose a Manish Malhotra lehenga-choli. She, along with Puja Gupta, walked the red carpet for the screening of the film All Is Lost. Accompanying the two ladies was Susi Ganesan, the director of their upcoming film Shortcut Romeo.
The trio is at Cannes to promote Shortcut Romeo.
Talking about Ameesha’s dress, it may not be anything jaw-droppingly different from the umpteen Manish Malhotra lehenga-cholis we’ve clapped our eyes on, but to a foreigner’s eye (of which there’s no dearth at Cannes), Ameesha must have looked a picture of elegance.
What definitely didn’t work on the look was the layers of make-up she daubed on her face, making it look pallid and even plastic.
Ameesha’s fans, however, seemed to have loved the look for they are bombarding her twitter handle with compliments.
Ameesha chose another Manish Malhotra for the portrait session at Cannes. Check that out on the next page.
