The row over Shahrukh Khan getting the gender of his unborn surrogate child determined has apparently ended with the BMC giving a clean chit to the superstar.
It was alleged last week that the 47-year-old superstar and his wife Gauri Khan are expecting a baby boy through surrogacy. The fact that the baby’s sex was determined before birth had kicked off a controversy with Indian Radiological and Imaging Associations (IRIA) demanding an inquiry, as pre-natal sex determination is illegal in India.
Recently when the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) officials visited Shahrukh Khan’s place Mannat, they couldn’t meet him as he is holidaying in London with his family. However, they did talk to the superstar over phone.
SRK is reported to have clarified that he hasn’t got any sex determination test for surrogacy.
Even the spokesperson of Jaslok Hospital has confirmed that none of its doctors is involved in the surrogate child of Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan.
The BMC is reported to have given a clean chit to the actor and will present the report to the Maharashtra health ministry.
Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan already have two children. Aryan, their son, is aged 15; Suhana, their daughter, is aged 13.
The actor is presently awaiting the release of his film Chennai Express. He will soon get busy with the promotional activity for the film.
