Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan are learnt to have donated Rs. 25 lakh each to help the victims of floods in Uttarakhand.
The Indian film industry has never shown stinginess when it comes to lending financial support in the time of any natural calamity. Unsurprisingly, but admirably, a slew of Bollywood celebs have come forward and donated generously for Uttarakhand flood relief fund.
For starters, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan have contributed substantial money of Rs. 25 lakh each. Hrithik handed in the cheque before going in for his brain surgery on Sunday.
Hrithik Roshan said in a statement: “One must do what one can to help others in need. It must become part of your belief system and must start at home. Also, I believe one must talk about his charities. The old belief of 'self-glorification' giving and not talking about it does not serve the higher purpose of teaching people to give and propagating the ideal.”
Aamir Khan, who has lent his support to several social causes and even hosted a programme to highlight many social ills, is learnt to have taken the initiative to donate for Uttarakhand flood victims. The money will reportedly be given to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
Down south, yesteryear Tamil actress Sripriya Rajkumar has announced a contribution of Rs.23 lakh towards the Uttarakhand relief fund. Telugu actors Ram Charan Teja and his cousin Allu Arjun have chipped in Rs.10 lakh each towards the relief fund. Earlier, actor Pawan Kalyan, younger brother of Chiranjeevi, donated Rs. 24 lakh for the same cause.
