The Student Of The Year debutant Varun Dhawan is getting ready for his next, Main Tera Hero, to be directed by none other than his own father David Dhawan. If Varun is excited about the film, papa David wants him to be as spontaneous on camera as Salman Khan.
Main Tera Hero is an official remake of South masala hit Kandireega (2011) starring Ram. Naturally, Varun is required to look and act like a mass hero, and who better than Salman Khan to seek inspiration from. Incidentally, David has directed Salman in many films, and admires the actor for his spontaneity and gut. So it’s obvious that papa dear wants his sonny to follow in the footsteps of the blockbuster star.
David admits that his son will take the spontaneous stance for the movie. David says, as a director he is giving Varun a free hand to interpret his role the way he wants to. But why does he want Varun to emulate Salman Khan? “If you see Salman in my films, you'll find a lot of 'Salmanisms' in the characters. I want Varun to strive for the same kind of unrehearsed performance,” David Dhawan is quoted as saying.
Too excited to direct his own son, David will start the movie this month. Later, the shoot will progress in places like Ooty, Bangalore, Mumbai and then in Bangkok. In the movie, Varun Dhawan will be seen romancing Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D'Cruz.
