|Salman Khan and Himesh Reshammiya have apparently ironed out their differences, for the superstar is learned to have nodded Himesh as the music composer of his upcoming actioner Kick.
Buzz is that Salman Khan and producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala have decided to rope in Himesh Reshammiya for Kick. Reshammiya is known for catchy compositions with mass appeal and an insider says Kick requires just that kind of music.
There was a time when Salman unfailingly backed Reshammiya as the music composer of his films. The latter has composed for Khan’s films like Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (1998), Hello Brother (1999), Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge (2000), Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye (2000), Tere Naam (2003), Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa (2004) and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), and Kyon Ki (2006). Over time, Himesh moved away from Salman’s films and began composing for Akshay Kumar’s films and many other projects.
In the meantime, Salman Khan backed the composer duo Sajid-Wajid for his films, and Himesh Reshammiya returned as a composer for a Salman film only in 2011 with Bodyguard.
Now, after two years, he’s uniting with Salman again for Kick.
The film was earlier slated to be directed by Shirish Kunder, but Kunder bowed out after the debacle of Joker last year. Thereafter, Sajid Nadiadwala, who was to only produce the film, decided to take over the directorial reins as well. The film’s shooting will begin soon in London.
