|While Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara with Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan is touted bigger than the original, the makers want to add the stars from the first part in the opening credit list. Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi’s names will be credited in the movie.
Even though Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi are not connected with the sequel of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, a 2010 hit, their names will be topping the opening credit list, claim sources. And the reason is producer Ekta Kapoor, who considers both the actors lucky for her.
It can be recalled that years 2010-2011 was special for Balaji Motion Pictures because after delivering a slew of duds and average grossers, the production house tasted big success through Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. The next year also saw the roaring success of The Dirty Picture, and the one who basked in the success of these films was Ekta Kapoor, the Balaji honcho.
It’s said that Ekta feels both Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi are lucky mascots for her. “Ekta is a superstitious person. She feels both Ajay and Emraan are extremely lucky for her because of which the previous film had raked in impressive moolah.” Thus, their names will feature at the top of the list, even before any of the actors starring in the present sequel.
A special 60-second video of footage from the previous installment, featuring Ajay Devgn, is also planned to play in the sequel, starring Akshay Kumar as the suave gangster. Both Ajay and Emraan have already given their nod to the makers for their special inclusion.
Tanuj Garg, CEO of the production house, has also confirmed the news to a tabloid, mentioning that Ajay and Emraan are integral part of the franchise.
Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor is even observing rozas for the success of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara.
