Anushka Sharma is looking forward to Bombay Velvet for which she is currently shooting in Sri Lanka. But the actress is not playing a bar dancer in the film, instead her role is of a jazz singer from the 60s.
The stunning actress will turn into a retro diva for the film, lighting up the screen with her glamorous jazz singer avatar. Anushka Sharma is currently training for the same. Apparently a popular Indo-Australian jazz singer is giving her lessons on getting the right body postures to sync with her character. The actress even wanted to catch up with jazz concerts in Mumbai before starting the shoot, but due to lack of time she couldn’t.
Also, it’s heard that Anushka Sharma’s wardrobe for the film includes outfits by the renowned fashion designer Nikhil Thampi. Needless to say that Anushka will be a stunner in the film.
Excited to be a part of Anurag Kashyap’s film, Anushka said in a statement, "I have always wanted to work with Anurag and I am glad that I am going to be a part of his biggest celluloid dream yet. I am sure it is going to be an unforgettable experience. Fingers crossed.”
The movie has an ensemble cast that also includes Karan Johar in the role of an antagonist. Bombay Velvet is a thriller based on real incidents in the 1960s, based on a book by historian Gyan Prakash.
