Ashutosh Gowariker -- the director of films like Jodhaa Akbar and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey -- is planning his next on the world’s oldest civilization, The Indus Valley. His movie will be titled Mohenjodaro.
For the film, Gowariker’s first choice was his ‘Akbar’ Hrithik Roshan. The director and the actor get along very well during Jodhaa Akbar days, and when Gowariker started conceptualizing his period drama he couldn’t think of anyone but Hrithik to play the lead.
Hrithik Roshan was also keen to be a part of the project, and apparently even promised the director to make time for it. But, the film kept getting delayed as Hrithik was busy with other projects. Gowariker has now gone ahead and reportedly roped in Sushant Singh Rajput for the film for which the director has researched extensively along with a team of archaeologists.
Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput made his debut with Kai Po Che!, many filmmakers including Aditya Chopra have felt that the young lad has got the potential and is a talented actor.
