Finally, director-producer Sohail Khan has decided to junk the title Mental and has announced Jai Ho as the new title of the movie starring Salman Khan in the leading role.
Sources say there was a growing clamour in the circle of friends and well-wishers of Salman Khan against the title Mental, which has negative connotation. Jai Ho was better liked by everyone as the film is slated to release during the Republic Day weekend in 2014. Moreover, the film has a social theme and the title goes well with it.
The final nail was hammered by Salman’s father Salim Khan who openly declared his liking for the title Jai Ho.
Heeding the growing buzz, Sohail Khan has taken the call and locked on Jai Ho as the official title of the film.
“Yes, the film is titled Jai Ho. Mental was only a working title. We always knew we’d change it. Jai Ho was a title that my father liked. Now by the grace of God, we’re all set to release the film on Jan 24,” Sohail Khan is quoted as saying.
The film also stars Daisy Shah, Sana Khan and Tabu. Its shoot has seen its share of setbacks, including a row with the fighters and stuntsmen from down south over their remuneration and representation.
Hardly was that tided over by the Khan brothers than a new controversy hit the film with the film’s actress Sana Khan getting embroiled in a case of alleged kidnapping of a minor girl.
However, now the film’s shoot is approaching its end.
