If one is the Badshah Khan of Bollywood, the other is the rising Kapoor, whom the media now calls the star on a par with the Khans. Filmmaker Karan Johar apparently wanted both Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in his film, but the latter has declined such a lucrative offer.
It would have been a visual delight for the Bolly buffs to watch Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in the same film, but Ranbir wasn’t apparently so keen on sharing the limelight with a superstar, especially when he is rocking the Bollywood with his solo-lead films.
Already a star, Ranbir Kapoor is inarguably the most promising and bankable actor among the younger lot. Even though his last film Besharam failed to lure the audiences to the theatres, his stardom hasn’t flagged at all.
“Ranbir wants to consolidate his position as a solo lead. He is capable of carrying a film on his shoulders alone,” a source is quoted as saying.
Also, Ranbir’s date diary is full with films like Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jassos, Roy and talks are even on for Ayan Mukerji’s next.
It’s being said that Karan Johar’s movie is a two-hero project, and it’s evident that Karan is fond of both Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, and has worked with them to deliver several blockbusters. With Ranbir’s no, it seems Karan’s dream of casting the two actors has been squashed?
