|Actress Kajol was supposed to attend the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Goa, 2013, but the actress gave it a miss. However, her cousin Rani Mukerji did show up at the inaugural ceremony.
It’s heard that Kajol refused to be a part of the inaugural ceremony and backed off at the last moment, citing her discomfort over not being treated on a par with the Hollywood biggie Susan Sarandon. The actress was disappointed when she came to know that Sarandon is getting better treatment than her. Apparently, she commanded to be treated equally.
“Kajol was invited by the International Film Festival of India to be a part of the opening ceremony, but she put down some conditions and did not attend,” a source is quoted as saying.
But was her no-show only because of the special arrangements for the Hollywood actress, or was she aware of Rani Mukerji’s presence at the opening ceremony? Both the cousins share cold vibes and are hardly seen together at any event. Even during the Durga Puja celebrations they don't meet or greet each other.
Moreover, after the falling-out between Kajol’s husband, Ajay Devgn and Yash Raj Films, run by Rani’s beau Aditya Chopra, when their films Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar clashed at the box office last Diwali, the relationship between the two sisters seems much strained.
The IFFI opening event was attended by many celebs like Rekha, Kamal Haasan, Asha Bhonsle, Huma Qureshi, and others.
