Aamir Khan’s latest starrer Dhoom 3 crossed the 200 crore mark at the Indian box office on Saturday.
It took the YRF film nine days to make it past the coveted 200 crore mark, a feat only three films have achieved in the past at domestic box office: 3 Idiots, Chennai Express and Krrish 3.
As we reported earlier, the film rounded off its first week at the box office with an awesome collection of Rs. 188.98 crore nett. Friday brought in an added Rs. 10.10 crore to take the eight-day tally to Rs. 199.08 crore, just a little shy of the magic number of 200 crore.
But that number has been touched on Saturday. Rs. 92 lakh is all it needed for Dhoom 3 to achieve the feat and the film minted that in the first few hours on Saturday.
The movie has done exceptionally well abroad as well. It has taken the Pakistan box office by storm with Rs. 7.25 crore in the first week. It has minted more than 26 crore in Dubai and the Gulf region. In North America, the film’s first week collection stands at a record breaking (for a Bollywood film) Rs. 35.61 crore, as per trade reports.
Now, it remains to be seen if Dhoom 3 will touch the 300 crore mark in India. The film’s worldwide collections are already in the range of Rs. 360 crore.
