John Abraham has replaced Akshay Kumar in Hera Pheri 3, and now has also clinched the sequel of Awara Paagal Deewana, another hit of Akki.
Looks like John Abraham is laying claim over Akki’s turf, for he has signed not one but three sequels of Akshay Kumar’s films. First up is Welcome Back, then Hera Pheri 3 and now Awara Paagal Deewana 2.
Producer Firoz Nadiadwala who is making Hera Pheri third part recently offered John Abraham the sequel of Awara Paagal Deewana. Insiders say it’s John’s wedding gift from the producer.
Neeraj Vohra, who is directing Hera Pheri 3 for Firoz, has confirmed the news to a daily. The director says, “Yes, it's true, I'm directing 'Hera Pheri 3', We go on the floors in three-four months. I have also finished the script of 'Awara Paagal Deewana 2' and given it to Firoz.”
Released in 2002, Awara Paagal Deewana was a screwball caper starring a host of actors like Suniel Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani and Paresh Rawal. Directed by Vikram Bhatt, the movie got a good response at the BO. While John is confirmed for the sequel, the rest of the cast is still kept under wraps.
Anees Bazmee is likely to direct Awara Paagal Deewana 2. Are you happy with the choice of John Abraham to play the lead in the sequel?
