Narendra Modi need not apologize for Gujarat riots: Salman Khan
Just days after lunching and flying kites with the Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has said that Modi needn’t apologize for the Gujarat riots of 2002 as he’s been given a clean chit by the judiciary.

In an interview to the TV channel Headlines Today, Salman Khan said, “Why would Modi say sorry if he is not responsible for it (riots). Why the judiciary game him a clean chit? Why nothing happened? (sic)”

When asked if Narendra Modi is the best man to become India’s next Prime Minister, Salman was equivocal.

“Don’t want to take any name regarding the best candidate for the PM post as I do not want my judgment to influence millions of fans across India,” Salman added.

The 48-year-old superstar nonetheless added that Modi is “very cultured”.

Just last week Salman Khan was in Gujarat to promote his upcoming film Jai Ho and he spent quality time with Modi on Makar Sankranti. He enjoyed eating some Gujarati delicacies and later flew kites with Modi. Moreover, when Modi’s finger got nicked with the ‘manja’, Salman himself applied the bandaid on the PM hopeful’s finger.
