Now, the actress and model has reportedly filed a police complaint accusing the director of not paying her full acting fee and also making sexual advances.
In her written complaint Sherlyn Chopra alleges that the director withheld her remuneration of Rs. 7 lakh after she rebuffed his sexual advances. Rupesh Paul denies having made any sexual overtures, and says the money hasn’t been paid because Sherlyn didn’t do her dubbing and is no longer a part of the film.
“The payment was to be made in four parts. The fourth part (of Rs seven lakh) was to be paid, after she came for dubbing. (But) now that she has said that she is not doing the movie and would not do dubbing, what should we pay her for,” Paul is quoted as saying by PTI.
Sherlyn Chopra has also alleged that Rupesh Paul threatened to use her nude footage from 'Kamasutra 3D' on porn websites to sully her name.
“She is a liar. These allegations are baseless. She used to call me ‘Appa’ and ‘Captain’. She used to touch my feet before shooting. The fact is that she mentally tortured us a lot. She was too demanding and she made the crew wait for hours on the sets. It was hell working with her,” Paul is quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Sherlyn Chopra didn’t turn up at the Santa Cruz police station to record her statement in the case. The actress says she was busy with prior commitments and would soon take out time to record her statement.
Sherlyn Chopra versus Rupesh Paul - A history of the conflict
Apparently, Sherlyn Chopra and Rupesh Paul never really got along during the making of 'Kamasutra 3D'. Mid-way into the making, Sherlyn released her nude footage from the film on YouTube, upsetting the director who then wanted her booted out of the project. But the issue was sorted out and Sherlyn was back in the project. Things came to a head in January when Sherlyn Chopra skipped the trailer launch of the movie, and director Rupesh Paul called her behavior ‘unprofessional’ and said that Sherlyn was a ‘nobody’.
In retaliation, Sherlyn disclosed that she barely shot for 'Kamasutra 3D' for five days and therefore doesn’t feel compelled to promote it. She added that it was her popularity that helped Rupesh Paul find the producers. Otherwise, she claims, Paul had no funds to shoot the film. In reply, Rupesh Paul said that with ‘Kamasutra 3D’ he’s helped Sherlyn Chopra escape the ‘filth of porn’.
Following that Sherlyn Chopra unleashed a flurry of choicest expletives at Rupesh Paul.
