It’s common knowledge that Saif hasn’t yet broken through the glass ceiling to earn himself the title of a blockbuster superstar a la Salman Khan or Shahrukh Khan or Aamir Khan. So producer Ramesh Taurani apparently felt his demand of Rs. 16 crore for a movie was disproportionate to the pull the actor commands with the cine goers.
Buzz is that Ramesh Taurani offered Saif Ali Khan Rs. 10 crore for a coming movie to be directed by Mohit Suri. However, Saif felt the price was “too low” and demanded a 60 percent extra hike, that is 16 crore.
We hear Taurani wasn’t sold on Saif’s proposal and is now quietly looking for a replacement.
The producer and the actor have had good working relations since their teaming up in Race and Race 2. Saif Ali Khan in fact may still be part of Race 3 but he is in all likelihood out of Taurani’s untitled film to be directed by Mohit Suri. The film is slated to roll in the middle of this year.
Saif Ali Khan has confirmed that he and Taurani have some differences over his remuneration.
Saif had three releases in 2013, of which Race 2 was a hit, Go Goa Gone was an average performer, while Bullett Raja was a flop.
