Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt was granted a parole extension for another 30 days by district authorities on Tuesday.
The 53-year-old actor is convicted to serve 42-month imprisonment for illegal possession of weapons in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. He’s presently out of Pune’s Yerawada jail on parole to take care of his ailing wife Manyata who is said to be suffering from multiple ailments and even underwent a surgery last month.
To nurse his wife, Sanjay Dutt recently requested a second parole extension this year. The divisional commissioner's office in Pune granted extension till March 21 to the actor.
As per rules and regulations, a prisoner is allowed maximum 90 days of furlough. Dutt would exhaust that by March 21.
