Varun Dhawan can heave a sigh of relief. His second release, but first film as solo male lead, Main Tera Hero, has opened to a decent start at the box office.
The film is said to have minted Rs. 6.60 crore net on Friday (India business only) which though not the ideal figure for a film aiming for hit status, is nonetheless a fairly good enough start, considering that cricket was on everyone’s mind on Friday, thanks to the India-South Africa semi-final at T20 World Cup championship.
Trade reports say that the film had a response ranging between 40 percent to 55 percent and drew in good footfalls particularly in mass belt areas.
Starring Varun Dhawan, Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D'Cruz, 'Main Tera Hero' is said to have cost its makers Rs. 40 crore approximately (promotion costs included) and therefore the film will have to pick up on Saturday and Sunday to be par for the course.
The bad news is that the Sunday collections too will expectedly be hit by the much-awaited India-Sri Lanka final match at T20.
