The much-anticipated remake of Basu Chatterjee's 1982 hit, Shaukeen , has gone on the floors. Akshay Kumar is one of the main leads in the movie, and has already started shooting for it with Lisa Haydon, who was signed after Nargis Fakhri, the original choice to play the heroine, walked out of the project.
Akki and Lisa have never worked together. Interestingly, the actor was all praises for the leggy lassie. He posted on twitter, “1st shot of my new film 'SHAUKEEN'. It's been a great day! Well done Lisa Haydon, fab job! U were born for the big screen!”
Lisa Haydon made her debut with Aisha (2010), and was later seen in a small role in Rascals. The recently released Queen brought her much appreciation and recognition. The sexy gal not only scorched the screen with her oomph, but also acted well.
In Shaukeen she will be sharing screen space with four different actors. The original film revolved around three old men in their 50s -- Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and AK Hangal -- who try to impress a young dancer, played by Rati Agnihotri.
While Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher will be reprising the roles of the three old men, Akshay Kumar plays the dancer's boyfriend, originally played by Mithun Chakraborty.
