Karan Johar is not willing to scrap his dream project Shuddhi. The director-producer is trying hard to get an ensemble star cast for the film, and buzz is that superstar Salman Khan is latest to hear the script.
Yes, Karan Johar apparently wants Salman Khan in the film. Ever since Hrithik Roshan quit Shuddhi citing health concerns, and Kareena Kapoor followed suit, Karan is heard to be frantically scouting for a new lead pair.
In fact, he had even approached Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone for it, but that turned out to be a futile attempt, as Ranveer-Deepika went on to sign Bajirao Mastani which was supposed to go on the floors around the same time as Shuddhi.
As per reports, around 10 days ago, Karan drove to Salman's Bandra residence with the script of Shuddhi, and the sources claim that the long meeting ended on a positive note.
Now, the industry is already abuzz with the news of a possible Salman-Karan Johar collaboration. As per reports, Salman loved the story but hasn’t discussed the dates and money. It’s been a while since Karan wanted to cast Salman. The two have worked together in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Do we see Karan Johar’s dear wish turning into a reality with Shuddhi starring the one and only Salman Khan?
Based on the theme of reincarnation, Shuddhi is a passionate love story. Coincidentally, Salman likes these kind of scripts. The star himself had penned the script of Suryavanshi (1992), co-starring Amrita Singh along with him, and that was a film on reincarnation.
Salman’s next release will be Kick, starring Jacqueline Fernandez.
