Call it the demand of the role or Zoya Akhtar’s diktat, actress Priyanka Chopra had to shed many kilos to look the part for Dil Dhadakne Do. Slim to slimmer!
Priyanka Chopra had trained with boxer Jharna Sanghvi over the last year to get the brawny physique to play the pugilist Mary Kom in the biopic, but Zoya wanted Priyanka to get rid of those muscles built during her training. In order to look fit and lean, Priyanka again trained hard.
It’s learnt that the actress lost seven kilos in twenty days. Yes! Pee Cee made the impossible possible with her dedication. Zoya wanted Priyanka to look svelte for her turn as a suave businesswoman from a Punjabi family in her film.
To achieve the desired look for the movie, Priyanka once again trained with Jharna. “It's usually not easy and advisable to cut down six-seven kilos in just 15-20 days. But boxers can lose that much in about 20 days with the right weight training and activities like skipping, running and a controlled diet because they are trained for it. Priyanka did just that,” the trainer is quoted as saying.
Priyanka Chopra’s diet also played a good role in her losing a stone. The actress was on a protein-rich diet and avoided carbs for twenty days. Besides general exercises, the former beauty queen used to run for thirty minutes every day.
Priyanka is currently shooting for Dil Dhadakne Do with Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar. The cast and crew will be shooting for the film on a cruise liner sailing through Europe for a two-and-a-half-month long schedule.
