The gorgeous Katrina Kaif and the eternal diva Rekha are teaming up for the first time on the big screen. The movie is Fitoor, to be directed by Abhishek Kapoor. Since the two lovely ladies have never worked together, a prep-up session is required.
The makers of the film feel that the two actresses need to know each other before the shooting begins. The script reading sessions at the workshop will also enable the two to be familiar before the shoot begins.
Katrina Kaif, who always believes in learning, can’t get better opportunity than this. The actress, who has already worked with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in her debut film Boom, will soon start with Fitoor in which she plays a Kashmiri girl named Firdaus in love with Aditya Roy Kapur’s character.
Since the movie is adapted from Charles Dickens’s celebrated novel The Great Expectations, Rekha’s character of a begum is based on Miss Havisham. Katrina would be seen as her adopted daughter, and like the novel the movie too will explore the complex relationship between the mother and daughter.
Since both Rekha and Katrina Kaif are as different as actors as chalk and cheese, it would be interesting to see the two together in the movie.
Fitoor is a story of grand passion, beauty and love. The movie depicts the relationship between three characters: a young Kashmiri boy named Noor (Aditya); his ladylove Firdaus (Katrina) and the Begum (Rekha).
The entire team is charged about what the film promises to be, reveals Abhishek Kapoor. The film is scheduled to go on the floors in August 2014.
