Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan have silenced all the naysayers who expected the two stars to always be at each other’s throats. Now, Salman has gone a step further in expressing his liking for his projected rival.
Last Sunday we saw the rerun of the famous hug between Salman and Shahrukh in 2013 at the same host’s Iftar party. This year, the embrace was expected. Shahrukh was already at the party bonding with Salman’s dad Salim Khan when the Dabangg superstar loped in.
The two actors greeted each other warmly and hugged. The entire meet-and-greet lasted longer than the one last year, and there was a general air of goodwill and bonhomie.
Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan have been friends, but they also have a history of spats. The first fight took place on the sets of SRK’s 2003 movie Chalte Chalte when Salman barged in, demanding to see Aishwarya Rai, who was later dropped from the film in favour of Rani Mukerji.
The two stars reconciled during the pre-wedding celebrations of Farah Khan in 2004. It was an emotional reunion.
The second fight happened in 2008 at Katrina Kaif’s birthday when the two apparently almost came to blows. The chill lasted till 2013, when the two finally hugged and made up at Baba Siddiqui’s Iftar party.
