There’s a roar at the box office mingled with the ringing of cash registers. Ajay Devgn’s latest film Singham Returns has had a stupendous opening weekend.
An August 15 release was always going to bring in footfalls for Rohit Shetty’s latest release Singham Returns, but what remained to be seen was how much the film would hold on Saturday and Sunday. Here are the opening weekend figures of the flick at the Indian box office.
As you can see, the film saw a huge dip on Saturday relative to its opening day collection, but rose back on Sunday. Monday being the gazetted holiday would bring in more crowds.
Released on over 3600 screens in India, Singham Returns has turned out to be second highest opening weekend grosser of the year after Kick (Rs. 83.83 crore). The film also marks the best opening for any Ajay Devgn flick ever.
Trade expects Singham Returns to enter the 100 crore club on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment is hovering around Rs. 64 crore in its second week.
The coming Friday will see the release of Mardaani and Mad About Dance.
