For starters, the movie, though a sequel to Any Body Can Dance, has nothing to do with the original. It’s rather a fresh story of four dancers. The inspirational dance film is based on the true-life story of four boys -- Rohit, Pavan, Suresh and Vernon -- who are part of a dance institute named Fictitious Dance Academy.
When Remo D'Souza came across the real-life story of these boys from Nala Sopara who went all the way from their dingy home town to win a dance show in Las Vegas, he knew he had to tell their story. Varun Dhawan plays gritty dancer Suresh in the film.
The actor tweeted a selfie with Shraddha, writing, “Since I was a little boy Iv had a passion for dancing. Today I start #abcd2 as an ode to dancers across india.”
Varun will be sporting a buzz cut hairdo in the movie. The audiences will also see a different Shraddha Kapoor. The actress is mostly seen in cute, desi looks in her films, but for ABCD 2 she will be sporting a cool look of a hip-hop dancer. A treat for millions of her fans! The actress is even working hard to get a muscular body for the film.
Shraddha posted an image of the entire team, saying, "Day 1 - INDIA sched - #ABCD2 All the best team!! Here we roll!!!”
ABCD 2 is going to be far bigger in terms of canvas, scope, characterization and budget, says Remo D'Souza.
