The two young stars found the very thought of being called brother-sister repulsive.

Don’t call us brother-sister: Imran and Shruti Luck

What happens when two actors who play a romantic couple on the screen are referred to as brother and sister? The reference certainly didn’t go down well with Imran Khan, and Shruti Haasan, who makes her Bollywood debut in Luck which will hit the marquee on July 24.

At a press meet, a reporter asked if Imran sees Shruti as his kid sister.

Stunned at the question, Imran shot back: “Don’t use the word sister, it sounds horrible. We are more of friends. And one cannot romance a sister. It sounds very repulsive.”

Imran also went on to reveal that he has known Shruti since she was a kid because their families have been close.

Shruti too wasn’t pleased at being called Imran’s sister.

“Let’s not get into the brother sister relationships. We have been friends for the last so many years that I have lost count. We are romancing each other in the film so just keep to that. One can’t romance a brother, in fact the thought itself is repugnant,” she said.

‘Luck’ has both Imran and Shruti doing many stunts. Directed by Soham Shah, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, Danny Denzongpa and Ravi Kissen, apart from Imran and Shruti.
