'Kurbaan' suffers rejection at box office
Collections not up to expectations

Kurbaan has failed to make an impact like it was predicted by Bollywood trade pundits. The movie opened to an average response and to mixed reviews by the critics, some trashing it while others hailing it as “the most powerful film of the year”.

The movie grossed around Rs 4 crore approx on its opening day. Overall its collection was mediocre except in Mumbai territory where it collected around Rs 1.5 crore on its first day. The Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer couldn’t boost the collections even on Saturday and Sunday. The collections did not show a big leap and the movie just managed a fair business over its first weekend. The collections dropped on Monday taking its four day business to only Rs 15.75 crore approx. Now seeing its performance at the box office, it seems the film can’t even do Rs 30 crore nett business.

However, Hollywood film 2012 has emerged the biggest hit of 2009 in India. The film grossed Rs 25 crore approx over its first week from its English and Hindi versions. The dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions have added further Rs 8-10 crore approx.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani again had a wonderful week. The movie garnered around Rs 16 crore nett business. The two-week total is now around Rs 54 crore nett and the film may cross Rs 60 crore nett - a confirmed super hit after Wanted and Love Aaj Kal.

The next change is De Dana Dan and we hope it will rake in the moolah at the box office.

yeh toh hona hi tha...a dumb film, made by people who think audiences are stupid...Better watch Paradise Now or Waltz With Bashir than this load of KRAP

The film was ridiculous...vivek was a well known journalist nd the terrorists would have seen him on tv..besides any sane person would have taken the matter to the police and vivek decided not to..had he done non of the catastrophes would have taken place...funny how the cop survived the blast..and kiron kher holding a gun at kareenas head at an underground station...The film critics are to blame for such films and they are so inconsistent with there comments..Change the critics and you may start getting better movies being made..indian audiences are made to look stupid ,thanks to the critics...I see corruption.

i saw the film today. my goodness! every critic is praising this film. why? it makes a fool of the viewers. the critics have lost the sense to judge a stupid film from an intelligent one
