She has legions of fans who shower adulation on her; she’s the most googled celeb from India; she’s rich, famous, and her career has only been sloping upward with a string of hit flicks to her filmography. Yet, Katrina Kaif, the pin-up beauty and throbber of many a heart, is lonely.

In a bustling industry where hectic work schedules leave little time and space to form formidable friendships, the only succour a 25-year-old damsel can hope for is from the presence of a support system at home. But for a girl who comes from London and whose many siblings and a single mother are busy with their own lives and work, living in Mumbai “can get terribly lonely,” as Kat puts it.

The effects of loneliness and overwork manifest in different ways. Recently, Kat was down with jaundice and couldn’t even step out of her home to promote her latest release De Dana Dan.

Finally, to beat her blues, Katrina called her mother Suzanne to her house in Mumbai. The presence of her mother did a lot of good to Kat who feels her spirit rejuvenated now. So much so that she’s recovered enough to fly to Dubai for a live show.
